Privacy

In short

Purlaine does not collect any data. There is no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Everything stays on your iPhone.

Data storage

All projects, counters, notes, photos and settings are stored only on your device. There is no server that receives or stores your data. Widgets read the same local data through an iOS App Group.

Project counter in the Keychain

To enforce the free limit of 3 projects, Purlaine stores one number in the iOS Keychain on your device: how many projects have been created. It contains no personal data, is never transmitted and is only used inside the app. Unlike other app data, it remains when you delete and reinstall the app.

Photos

If you add a photo to a project, the app saves a copy on your device. Purlaine only sees the photo you pick.

Widgets, Siri, Shortcuts and Action button

Widgets show or count rows using local data only. Voice commands are processed by Apple under its own privacy policy. Purlaine’s actions run on your device and send no data to me.

Purchases

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit. I receive no payment data, name or email address. Apple’s privacy policy applies.

App Store

If you opted in on iOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give me anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. You can turn this off in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Data deletion

You can delete projects in the app. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data except the project counter in the Keychain described above.

Children’s privacy

I don’t knowingly collect personal data from children. No project content is collected from anyone, whatever their age.

Contact by email

If you email me, I use your address and message only to answer you and delete them afterwards unless the law requires keeping them. I receive email via Apple iCloud Mail.

Contact by phone

If you call me, I process your phone number and any voicemail only to handle your request. Telephony is provided by sipgate (satellite).

This website

This website is served by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as your IP address to deliver the page and protect it from attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads no content from other providers.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Write to support@purlaine.app. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority.

Changes

If the app changes, I update this policy. The version published here applies.
